The purpose of these Policy and Procedures is to provide rules regulations to member organizations of the GTF. These Policy and Procedures are installed periodically modified via International General Meetings. It is the responsibility of member organizations to ensure that members understand the translation of these policies and procedures.

The GTF needs to present a professional image at all times. The following dress code is therefore appropriate:

1. On formal Occasions, Official Meetings, Tournaments

Instructors and Black Belts must wear:

1. Black shoes or reasonable training / martial art shoes especially when in a training hall (dojang)
2. Navy, black or dark blue trousers or skirt, white shirt (long sleeves if student is tattooed)
3. GTF / Tie
4. Navy Blazer with GTF Blazer Badge / GTF lapel pin
5. At tournaments / Seminars, students must wear: an official GTF training uniform (dobok)

All members registered to the GTF must wear an official GTF dobok according to their rank.

Rank Insignia Procedures are:

1. Color: White only
2. Design: Overlapping front with ties at the side
3. GTF Crest: On the left chest area (over the heart)
4. Badges: On left front pant leg - 3 globes with GTF
5. On left arm - 3 globes with Grand Master Park Jung Tae and GTF printed.
6. Printing: On back of jacket - GTF TAEKWON-DO

** It is only acceptable at International events to have the country name put on the back of the jacket under the official GTF name.

• Ribbon - Solid black color - 3 cm wide, Solid color - 1 cm wide
• First Degree: Black trim around bottom of jacket
• Second Degree: Black trim around bottom of jacket
• Third Degree: Black trim around bottom of jacket
• Fourth Degree: Black trim on jacket sleeves, around bottom of jacket and pant sides
• Fifth Degree: Black trim with white stripe in center on both jacket sleeves, around bottom of jacket and pant sides
• Sixth Degree: Black trim with yellow stripe in center on both jacket sleeves, around bottom of jacket and pant sides
• Seventh Degree: Black trim with red stripe in center on both jacket sleeves, around bottom of jacket and pant sides
• Eighth Degree: Black trim with blue stripe in center on both jacket sleeves, around bottom of jacket and pant sides
• Ninth Degree: Black trim with purple stripe in center on both jacket sleeves, around bottom of jacket and pant sides

Promotional procedures must be strictly adhered to.

The minimum times for testing as laid down by the GTF are:

1st > 2nd – 24 months / 2nd> 3rd – 24 months / 3rd> 4th – 36 months

4th > 5th – 48 months / 5th> 6th – 60 months / 6th> 7th – 72 months

7th > 8th – 84 months / 9th “Life Time”

Upon attending an International Instructors Course which is sanctioned by the GTF three (3) to six (6) months can be deducted from the above times between promotional tests depending on the black belt's ability to meet the requirements for such promotion.

Note: 3 months deduction for 3 to 5 day course, 6 months for course of 6 or more days. Two 3 day courses may be added together. However, regardless of the number of courses taken no more than 6 months may be deducted from any degree requirement as result of course participation.

The age of a student taking a promotional test reflects on what degree test can be taken. The following conditions apply:

• 1st Degree: The minimum age to apply for 1st Degree will be 10 years old
• 2nd Degree: The minimum age to apply for 2nd Degree will be 13 years old
• 3rd Degree: The minimum age to apply for 3rd Degree will be 16 years old
• 4th Degree: The minimum age to apply for 4th Degree will be 21 years old
• 5th Degree: The minimum age to apply for 5th Degree will be 25 years old
• 6th Degree: The minimum age to apply for 6th Degree will be 31 years old
• 7th Degree: The minimum age to apply for 7th Degree will be 40 years old

Note: Exceptions to these guidelines are possible at the reasonable request of the properly authorized Examiner.

• 4th Degree: Can test up to 2nd Degree
• 5th Degree: Can test up to 3rd Degree
• 6th Degree: Can test up to 3rd Degree, but under special authorization from GTF Headquarters, will be able to give examinations for 4th Degree rank.
• 7th Degree: Can test up to 5th Degree, but under special authorization from GTF Headquarters will be able to give examination for 6th Degree rank.
• 8th Degree: Can test up to 6th Degree
• 9th Degree: Can test up to 7th Degree

In the event there is no 9th Degree available to give examinations the following will apply:

To do promotions for 7th Degree - when the time comes, we need the approval of Executive Committee and GTF President along with two or more 8th Degree Masters present to conduct and witness the examination. To do promotions for 8th and 9th Degree when the time comes,

We require the consent of the GTF President, and approval from the majority of all Senior GTF Masters. Note: Exceptions to these procedures may be permitted by GTF Headquarters to allow 2nd and 3rd degrees to examine up to 1 Gup only in countries where there is no 4th degree. All Member Organizations must keep these Procedure Boundaries

The annual membership fee is 20 U.S Dollars

In order to be a member in good standing, all member organizations must submit the membership fee to GTF Headquarters each year.

The Headquarters will be responsible for sending each year to all GTF instructors a membership card that verifies they are in good standing with the GTF. Only individuals who are members in good standing will be permitted to attend GTF events and participate in promotions, tournaments, and other GTF activities.

GTF issues certificates only upon successful completion of testing.

These certificates are recognized worldwide.
